Impactful Scripture: James 4:6-8

Me and JM: In 2011, Ryan asked me to go on a Judean Missions trip. I made excuses not to go on the trip, but the words of the Great Commission resonated in my heart. I told Ryan that would go on the next trip. It changed my life and I wanted to do anything I could to help JM’s vision grow. Since then, I have gone on three JM trips and I currently serve as the Director of Creative Service and Information Technology for Judean Missions.

Full bio: Having grown up in church, he believed that Jesus was the Son of God, but never understood what it was to accept Him as Savior. In the summer of 1993, two men from his church visited his family and led both him and his brother to Christ. Although Matthew was baptized the next summer, he did not understand baptism significance. In 2012, he rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized as a public confession of his faith.

Matthew was born and raised in Kingsport, TN. In 2003, he met his beautiful bride, Leslie, while attending East Tennessee State University. The two married and moved to Knoxville in 2005. They have two children, Ava and Scarlett. He locally serves at Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church and has been a part of CH Worship since 2008.
